Autumn Pub of the Season

The Westmorland Branch Autumn Pub of the Season is the Beer Hall in Staveley. Congratulations to them.

Cumbria Beer Lovers Dinner

The Cumbria Beer Lovers Dinner was held on Friday November 11th at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal. We hope you enjoyed it if you attended.

18th Westmorland Beer & Cider Festival

The 18th Westmorland Beer and Cider Festival was held between Wednesday 12th to Saturday 15th October at Kendal Town Hall. We hope you enjoyed it if you attended.

Alan Risdon one of CAMRA's Top Forty

Congratulations to our branch president Alan Risdon for being  voted one of CAMRA's top forty campaigners as part of CAMRA's fortieth birthday celebrations. A fully deserved award for all his hard work over the years.

It is also congratulations to Lynda and Stuart Johnson of the Prince of Wales at Foxfield for also making the list. The full list is in the August edition of What's Brewing.


CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain

The CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain has been announced at the GBBF festival in London. The award has gone to the Mighty Oak Brewery in Maldon, Essex for their Mild which is called Oscar Wilde.

Loweswater Gold from the Cumbrian Legendary Ales brewery in Hawkshead won the Golden Ale category.

The Westmorland Branch of CAMRA covers the old county of Westmorland, which includes Kendal, Appleby-in-Westmorland, the Southern Lake District and South to the Lancashire border plus Sedbergh & Dent (formerly in the West Riding of Yorkshire but now part of Cumbria).
