PATTERDALE PUB CRAWL 11th June 2007
The Branch visit to Patterdale on a warm balmy evening in high summer was rather disappointing. The weather was far from good, the first Pub was shut and only one pub, the Patterdale Hotel, seemed to have any decent beer. Ah well, at least we tried.
EDINBURGH VISIT 16th June 2007
o further celebrate AR’s birthday a few members formed yet another select band to make a day ticket return to Edinburgh to visit some of the many splendid pubs that this far flung colonial outpost has to offer. In good old Scottish weather – cold and wet -, even for June, we did our best to keep dry outside and wet inside. A really good day out for all and Scotland’s not that far when the train takes the strain, especially on an old age rail card.
BRANCH MEETING Royal Oak Appleby 12th July 2007
Unfortunately, due a spell of feeling ‘dizzy’ – no beer involved I must add, - the Chair had to be taken by Alan. Therefore, apart from being told that it was a good meeting with great hospitality from The Royal Oak, I can’t add more.
WHITE HORSE, KING’S MEABURN BEER FESTIVAL – 21st July 2007
Several members made what is now our annual pilgrimage to Kings Meaburn for John’s great se t up in a field right in the heart of nowhere. Only this year no suntan’s, due to this Summer of Discontent, it persisted (drizzled) all afternoon. Never mind the beer and company were great.
COUNTY MEETING 11th August 2007
The Cumbria Branches meeting was held at The Green in the Brewery Tap of Beckstones Brewery. An enjoyable day out finished of with most repairing to the POW Foxfield before catching the train home.
BRANCH SOCIAL VISIT – Tirril Brewery 13th August 2007
A visit was made to see the new Tirril Brewery recently transferred to Long Marton. It is now housed in a genuinely very old barn which has been sympathetically renovated and converted to a state of the art brew house. Good hospitality and explanation by Chris of the efforts made to get this far. Afterwards we made a visit to his Brewery Tap, the New in at Brampton. An excellent night out.
VARIOUS BEER FESTIVALS/TASTING'S
Several Members have made their own way to Beer Festival over the Summer including, Anglers Haverthwaite; Watermill Ings and Ulverston Beer Festival plus a well attended beer tasting session at the Watermill to officially record our views of Brian’s Beers. Our thanks are due once more to Linda for coming all the way over from Foxfield to officiate.

Some members made an unofficial visit.
BRANCH MEETING, BULL SEDBERGH. – 10th September 2007
A rather poorly attended meeting but some good business carried out.
WESTMORLAND BEER FESTIVAL - 7th / 13th October 2007
A very successful beer festival certainly appears to be up to last year’s high standard. Very many thanks to all who played a part, large of small.
BRANCH MEETING GREY WALLS WINDERMERE - 12th November 2007
A very poorly attended Branch Meeting. Main business was choosing pubs to survey for the GBG09
BRANCH XMAS PARTY –WATERMILL INN INGS 21st December 2007
A good number of Members were once again invited by Brian to a Xmas Buffet at the Watermill and a good time was had by all.
BRANCH MEETING 14th January 2008
The main business of the meeting was to choose our now 22 entries pus a reserve for the GBG2009. Reasonably well attended and a successful conclusion.
LANCASTER PUB CRAWL 9th January 2008
A poorly attended social despite much enthusiasm when arrange into the meetings schedule. Four of us went by train to Lancaster where two Lune Branch members Gill and Martin conducted us on a tour round some of the excellent array of pubs in the city centre. An enjoyable day out for us four.
