Breweries of
Westmorland
The following Breweries are currently in production in
Westmorland. Please click on the links to find out more
details. Note that the brewery taps we have listed are those
places most closely associated with the breweries, but they
may be separate enterprises and are not guaranteed to stock
the beers all of the time.
Kendal now has a brewery, as the Brewhouse at
Burgundys is now in operation. More details when the webmaster
has them.
Two other new breweries are planned within the
branch, namely Bowness Bay Brewery in Bowness on Windermere and
the Grey Walls in Windermere. More details when the webmaster
has them.

With the help of sponsors from their brewery
trade suppliers Hawkshead brewery have commissioned a short
film called Barley to Beer which explains the basics of brewing beer. It is
a guide for those wanting to know how their beer gets from
the raw ingredients to the glass. It is well worth a look.
